I don’t know my birth time: what can be calculated?

Written by Traits de vous

You know your birth date and place, but the time remains a mystery? You can still begin: the free chart and SOLO also work with three pillars instead of four. Some results depend on an assumption; near a calendar transition, the time may become necessary. ENTRE NOUS requires the birth time and place of both people.

1. Date, place, time: each has a role

Saju organises birth around four pillars: year, month, day and hour. Think of four reference points on a chart: each contributes information to the whole.

Your date places your birth in the calendar. Your birthplace provides its time-zone context. The time allows the fourth pillar to be calculated and shows which side of a transition you were born on when it occurs during that day.

Even without a birth time, the place remains useful. The calculation uses your full date, beyond the year alone.

2. Three pillars: what the calculation can use

The process for an unknown birth time looks for usable reference points for your date and place. It works with the year, month and day pillars. The hour pillar remains absent, and interpretations that depend on the unknown time are excluded when their consistency varies.

Some results are stable: the possibilities examined lead to the same useful reference points. Others depend on a condition covering part of the day. This is what we call an assumption.

The introductory chart presents a summary. Its image may leave out the details of that assumption. If your birth is near a transition, asking for clarification can help you understand the result and compare it with a chart calculated for an exact time.

3. On 4 February 2027, a birth time can clarify everything

Imagine a birth in Paris on 4 February 2027. Our engine places the solar year transition at 01:46 UTC, or 02:46 in Paris, to the stated minute. The civil date is the same before and after, but the yearly Saju reference changes.

Was the person born before or after this transition? The birth time lets us decide. Knowing only the day leaves the question open.

A change of month can raise the same question. The months in this calendar follow their own solar transitions. They begin at a different moment from the first day of our civil months.

4. An assumption, in plain words

An assumption is a small condition attached to the result: “this reading applies if the birth falls within this part of the day”. In some cases, the calculation excludes a short time window in this way.

For example, a result may assume a birth outside an early part of the day. Keep that condition with the reading. The exact time still needs to be found; the assumption explains how the result was selected.

Fill in the form using the information you know: full date, place and the “unknown time” option. If you have only an approximate memory, distinguish it from a confirmed time. The process may ask for clarification if it becomes essential.

The reading remains symbolic, not a prediction.

5. Where should you start with Traits de vous?

The free Saju identity chart is a first starting point. It accepts an unknown birth time under the conditions explained here. You can discover your reference points and take time to see what they suggest to you.

For a reading for two, gather your details together: ENTRE NOUS requires each person’s date, time and place of birth. The individual and relationship processes have their own requirements.

If a birth time is missing, the guides can already help you understand the method and the details to clarify.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I enter if I don’t know my birth time?

Choose “unknown time” when that option is offered. It lets the calculation work with the missing information rather than a randomly chosen time.

Why ask for the place too?

It provides the time-zone context of your birth. It is useful for the calculation even when you only know the date.

What does a three-pillar reading contain?

The year, month and day reference points that the calculation can establish. A fourth pillar requires a known birth time.

What if just one birth time is missing for ENTRE NOUS?

It must be clarified to use the current process. The birth time and place are required for each person.
